The first pics taken with the camera. They are a little blurry in places, but my camera has a setting to deal with it, I just wasn't using it! Anyway, enjoy.
LOL! I'm glad it is Liz going to the beach with me this year and not John. He's not invited. Not that I don't enjoy his company, but I don't wanna hang with him in my swim suit!
And thanks DC about the playlist. It is pretty awesome, and being reminded of that is good for my ego. :)
You Spin Me Round...although I'm buying the Flo Rida version
George Harrison... I've Got My Mind Set On You
The Proclaimers... I'm Gonna Be
David Cassidy... I Think I Love You
That's so far. I'm sure there will be others. I we alot of the same tastes. I already own stuff by Bow Wow Wow, The All American Rejects, Neil Diamond, and more. :)
Cool! I had heard the Michael Franti song a gajillion times, but had no idea who did it and what it was called. My sister kept talking about the song, but I didn't know what she was talking about, so one day she called me from the car when it was on and I was like, "I know that song, crazy woman," and she almost crawled through the phone to wring my neck! She said, "You told me you had never heard of the song!" Well, I didn't know what it was called. Anyway, I'm glad she told me what it was called so it could go onto my playlist. :) I do need to add more Neil Diamond to my list. I like him a lot. I'm almost out of room for new songs, so I'll have to clean out my list and start an overflow playlist.
Some of your selections surprised me. I've always been a little self-conscious about the David Cassidy song. You know how sometimes you have songs that you really like a lot but you think everyone will think you're weird? That's one of them. I have several more on the list. I guess it didn't keep me from sharing them anyway. ;) Your Bobby Day choice surprised me just because it's such an old song. I never expect people to be interested in the really old songs beyond their novelty.
Oh yeah, and the All-American Rejects - I LOVE that band, but I try to keep my playlist reasonably family friendly, and most of the songs I know by them have objectionable material in them. The song I have from them is off of the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack. If you have not seen that movie, you should rent/borrow/buy/steal it (I do not condone the latter-most option). It's one of our favorites. It has a very uplifting message.
I've loved that David Cassidy song every since it was used on a Levi's commercial. lol!
I enjoy older music. When I was 7 or 8 my parents gave me all of their old records. I still have them. Righteous Brothers, James Taylor, Carole King, Beatles, Elvis, etc...
Love, love, love The All American Rejects. I couldn't make it through a workout without 'em. Love 'em! I do completely understand your concern about putting 'em on a family friendly blog though. :)
I was suprised to see Bow Wow Wow on your list. They seem to be flying under the radar of most folks!
I am a musical magician. If the music is awesome, I know it. Really, I was just raised well, I guess. My dad is an old DJ. I was raised on rock n' roll.
But for those of you that may be new to my blog, if you need to shut off the music for a minute, say to watch a video, or listen to another song that's on my blog, just scroll down to the bottom of the page, and my playlist is hanging out there.
Hello! My name is Mary, and I am the mastermind behind all this awesomeness! I am the mother of two middle - sized children, and the wife of one very handsome man. I like to crochet - it has gone from a sometime hobby to something of an obsession. Maybe I should be a little ashamed of my addiction, but I've decided to embrace it instead!
