Bangs!

I just cut myself some bangs. I don't know why I ever let them grow out. I have the jaggediest hairline ever (see "Kablooey!"), and I just look better with bangs. So I cut myself some kinda long side-swept bangs, and I may cut them shorter after I've had a couple of days to play with the long ones and know if they're going to work. Really, I need a new haircut altogether because my last one is all grown out and shapeless now. Also it was cut for straight hair, and I've since decided to quit fighting nature and just let my hair do what it wants. I need a curly-friendly haircut. :)

Bangs! It almost sounds like a curse word, except more fun. They do look really nice on you ;)

Is there such a thing as a curl friendly hair cut?

You'd have to tell me. Your curls look like the kind that can't be fought with - ever. But fear not! I am now on a quest to find the perfect haircut for curly hair.

Yeah, straightening of any kind does not work for my hair. Bad bad bad.

Have you ever tried chemically relaxing it? (Just out of curiosity.)

You look great with bangs. They're very in right now. Work that trend!

Keri Russell has sported some cute dos for the ultra curly set. Maybe ya'll could browse a few of her pix.

Chemically relaxing is supposed to be worse for your hair than a perm. Yikes! My hair is damaged and dry enough as it is.

Thanks DC. That's a good idea that I hadn't thought of. (My hair isn't as curly as Keri Russell's, but her cuts may work for me.)

Timpani, I didn't know relaxing your hair was that bad. As a very dry haired girl myself, I can understand your aversion to that. (Ok, formerly dry haired girl - I used to go 5 days between washings, now I can only get 2 days out of a hair wash. That's part of the reason for my decision to quit straightening my hair. Who has the time to do it that often?!)

there are hair straighteners out there that are gentle, but they are not available over the counter. you have to go to a stylist, and they are NOT cheap. also, for the more curly hair types (timpani) they won't straighten it completely. you'll still have a bit of a wave. anyway, that's my two cents. i have straight hair naturally, although since erik was born, it's been different. prone to frizzing, and right after he was born, it was wavy!! i had the darndest time figuring out how to deal with it. i think i ended up cutting it short, and buying a strait iron.
