Farewell President Bush

Today is the last day in office for a mostly good president. He did not do everything right, but he kept us safe, and he was nobody's doormat. He was wrong on immigration and the economy is a problem, but he is not to blame entirely for that (the economy). George W. Bush was not a fabulous communicator, but was a man of principle. He always did what he thought was the best thing for our country, even if it was unpopular. And I believe that he is genuine, and worked extremely hard in the face of many people who wanted to hurt him - and not just politically. Thank you for your service, President Bush. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Now I'm nervous because President Bush is leaving office! He kept us safe for 7 years, will the new president be able to say the same?

yes, of corse! he has pledged to get rid of that annoing patriot act and to close "get-mo" prison(that is where the bad terrorists are kept). and nancy palosi sais she is considering leagal procicution for some of bushes people who "may" have commited war crimes. i mean come on you right wing nut, dismataling the programs that have kept us safe is exatly what you need to do to keep the badies out. and why wouldnt you want to give these crazy people who want to kill us all a chance to get into our legal system. you heartless war monger, what are you afraid of.

Good post, Mary! He may not have been perfect, but I believed that he was honest.

I believe our enemies will test our new president, and soon. There are two possibilities, as I see it: 1) As soon as Obama makes it into office he will have the same information that Bush had and realize that it would be suicide to back down in Iraq, and repeal the Patriot Act etc... or 2) He will get into office and immediately cut the military and basically dismantle the CIA (Did you see that moron he put in as head? ). In which case something terrible will happen, and it will be on his head. I personally think he's too smart to let another 9/11 type thing happen...like I said, that would be suicide.

The terrorists are like satan, when you align yourself with him , he lives you alone until its time to drag your soul into hell. When your are aspiring to be just and right, he takes all the good things away from you to test your faith. This is my perspective on what happened when bush took office. To be honest I think with obama in office at least for the next 4 years we will see fewer threats against the us. For all the wrong reasons. Don't tell me it sounds insane either, think about it for a few minutes..

I think that's a valid argument: "feed your friends to the tigers, hoping they'll eat you last" kind of a thing. I don't know though, the Islamic extremists are patient, and have no fear. Their plan seems to be to wear us down, after all, they've been fighting this fight for thousands of years, they are in this thing for the long-haul. I think maybe on one hand they realize that if they try to come over here and blow us up again, they'll really hack us off, and they won't know what hit 'em. So they might wait. On the other hand, they are psychotic, and they are not afraid of death, so it doesn't matter how many of their own people they have to sacrifice while trying to hurt us, they will always line up for the privilege of becoming "martyrs". The way Bin Laden has been coming out with new messages lately makes me think he's emboldened by the "regime change" here in America.
