Things In My Neighborhood

Here are some pictures I've taken around the neighborhood. These are some flowers that Launa and I picked out and planted the other day. I'm so glad that the weather is flower-friendly at last! :) This time last year, it was still snowing!

Snap dragons, and a water-globe thing that my next door neighbor gave me. :)

Violas.

Here's the placement of my flowers. I'm still waiting until tea roses become available so I can plant them in my big flower pot.

A limo. To quote Jeremy: "Somebody took a wrong turn somewhere!"

This is the prettiest magnolia tree I've ever seen! The flowers are purple instead of the standard white! It is easily the prettiest thing in my neighborhood. I took pictures on 2 settings to see if it made any difference, and I can't see much of one, but thought I'd post them both anyway. I should have gotten out of the car and taken a close-up of the flowers. So pretty!

Mom says my "magnolia" tree is actually a tulip tree. I'm thinking about going over there tomorrow and asking the owner if it's okay for me to take some close-ups of the tree.

Thanks! I love the violas too. They were only 99c at Home Depot. I bought 3 containers and smashed them together in one pot.

The snapdragons didn't turn out like I had hoped. I bought 2 colors and meant to alternate them, but for some reason, the ones that matched ended up next to each other. I don't know how that happened. Also one of the root balls fell apart completely when I pulled it out of the container, so I had difficulty getting them packed in there. Then it rained, and it was too much moisture, so now they're all droopy. *sigh* I hope they perk up soon.
