Balloon Hoax
Okay, this whole balloon hoax thing is ridiculous. I was trying to figure out how it was possible for a 6-year-old kid to be trapped inside a helium balloon and 1: be light enough for the thing to lift off the ground, and 2: be able to get inside the thing in the first place and 3: breathe. The whole situation was fishy from the beginning, and I'm sure maybe the authorities thought so too, but have to follow up on claims involving children. The Heenes are media whores and disgusting human beings. They deserve any charges that are brought against them along with any bills the police send their way, and probably even to have their children removed from the house since they were told to lie to the authorities and neighbors, (presumably) left the youngest child at home by himself, as well as taking resources from other potential real-life emergencies. These guys are just top-notch, grade-a DBs. Too bad they won't rot in prison for longer than 6 years at the most...on the other hand, they kinda need to hurry up and get out of prison so they can get off the state dime and start repaying the county for their hoax. And no, they should not be allowed to file bankruptcy in order to get out of it. Psychos.

dang Mary, go ahead and let us know how you really feel!
I did not even know the parents were in on it in the first place. Wow, it was like that woman who pretended to be kidnapped to get out of being married.
I think I was in a bad mood when I wrote that. It did come off a little strong didn't it?
Girl, let us know how you feel. Wow! You must have been in a bad mood on Friday. Hope today is better. :-)
hello! did we not talk about this yesterday? update, loser!!
Just to prove that I have been lurking... :)
Were you pleased with the sentencing? Both go to jail & they can't write or speak publically about the episode for at least four years.
Ya know what would be perfect? If everyone on their block got a reality show except them... That would be awesome!
DC!! ROFL! I agree! It actually should have been part of the sentencing that everyone on their block get a reality show except for them! HAHA! That's really funny!
PS- yes, I was pretty pleased about the sentencing. Man those guys were jerks.
I know total jerks! The entire country was in a panic. The New York Stock Exchange nearly stopped trading which is admirable and I'm proud the the almighty dollar can in fact be forgotten for a second or two. Yet we are in a recession so it was all a waste of good hearted concern. Astronauts were even called about from astronaut duty to try & find a way to bring down that stupid balloon. The national guard was called out. The most elite military force in our nation (the Parajumpers) were on standby!!! All for a frickin' hoax.
I seriously understand why so nations fear that we're corrupting their socities. Of course I wish they'd send over missionaries rather than terriorists but they don't roll that way...
I'm still so pissed at those parents.
I tell you what. If those people are given a reality show, I will boycott the whole network that carries their show. And any advertisers.
Tell me 'bout it!!
These people personify all the reasons terriorist want our nation destroyed.
Losers.
Using their children from some fourth rate version of fame.
Good point about the terrorists, but a lot of people use their children to achieve fame (John & Kate come to mind). Real people have a tendency to strongly dislike those people too though. Anyway, I don't have TV (I am becoming increasingly grateful for this fact.) so you'll have to let me know if they get a show.
I think that America is far too outraged to let them have a show. Although that ridiculous Octomom got one. However, I think that just maybe someone have finally crossed the line! Maybe.
In the beginning I loved Jon & Kate plus 8! They were a real solidly middle class family trying to survive some crazy circumstances. They loved one another, they would cry together, work together, and really pull together. Little by little it's changed as their houses progressively got bigger, their cars did as well, which oddly coincided with Kate quitting her job and then Jon...
They're not a real family anymore.
I'll give you that. I think they started out with really good intentions (how else could they provide so well for their family?), but the fame got to them. Plus, she was really hateful to him on camera, which would wear on any man if the nastiness outweighed the kindness. (Not saying he was blameless, but she did a great job of eviscerating him on camera as often as possible, making him look weak, and her look witchy.) But lots and lots of people use their kids for fame, and they are despicable.
yeah it got ugly...
the kids are so sweet though. bless their hearts.
