How I Really Feel About "Losing"

Yes, the man I voted for lost the election. I didn't really like him anyway. I think that's why he lost. Very few people were actually happy to vote for him, they mostly voted against the other guy. Meanwhile, the people who voted for BO were excited to vote for him. Big difference. I am not shocked about the loss. I'm surprisingly sanguine about the whole thing. My guy lost. I have concerns about the President Elect, but I'm not too worried. We survived Carter - arguably the worst President ever, and we will get through an Obama Presidency as well. I do not believe that Obama will magically and single-handedly overturn the system of government we have had over the last 232 years. It won't happen like that. When Obama is gone, this will still be the great country it was before he took office, just like it's the same great country is was before GWB took office. Yes we want "our guy" in the office, but he's not. "Our guy" wasn't even on the ballot this year. What did we really expect?

well said!! and also, it's not as though we the people have no power. this has also motivated me to get involved in politics. as in, know who my senators and representatives are, what the issues are, and let them know where i want their vote to be. get involved on a local level as well. i think that's what our country really needs; people involvement. on man, ie the president, shouldn't and doesn't have the power to make the kinds of changes the country needs. that power is ours, and it's about time we started exercising it.

Apparently Obama is trying to do something about abortion. Or at least he was using that line last year in 2007 according to a Christian Today article I just read.

We'll see if he keeps his word on that and many other things.

M-dog (could stand for Moon Dog! hmmmmm!) So you are reading Twilight! How cool is that? New Moon is my favorite of the series, mostly cause I like Jacob so much better than Edward. Anyhow, keep us posted. Having a friend discover a book you like almost lets you discover it all over.

You are on team Jacob? I don't know him really yet, so I'm a die-hard Edward fan so far. Of course, his departure is KILLING me! I never cry when I read books or watch movies. But I did when Edward was gone. (Did I say too much?) I need to figure out if I can create a forum on my blog for that, so we can discuss amongst ourselves without ruining it for people who may or may not read them. Also, while I have you John, I want to embed a video on my blog, but don't know how to do it. Will you explain it to me? Thanks.

Ha ha ha ha! John is on my side with the Jacob thing??? Who knew???

I'm guessing it's NOT because John thinks Jacob is hotter than Edward (in so many ways, not just talking looks here, in case anyone thinks I'm totally shallow).

There are a lot of folks that really dig Jacob. My friends, Amy & Sherrah, are die hard wolf fans.

I do have a couple of threads on my blog dedicated to twilight. I'm working on a new one since the movie is nearly upon us. I should have it up tomorrow.

Yay! I'm glad that Mary has joined us. :)

p.s. MC if ya want some help with embedding videos call me and I'll walk ya through it. :) It took me a few tries before I'd mastered the art of embedding youtube stuff.

Yeah MC embedding video. Me or Dana might be able to help. You have to-- or at least I don't know any other way-- do a copy and a paste on the HTML code that points to the video you want. You have a mac... hmmm. I think Dana's right, it'll be alot easier to talk you through it on the phone once or twice. It's pretty simple really, even though it probably sounds intense... Unless Dana knows a more slick way?

Bruce, you have a dirty mind. And the I thought about copying the HTML from your blog, John, but I wanted to make sure I got the right part of the code. Maybe I'll call later. Jeremy and I have plans to be away from the house today.

Nope J. That's the way I embed videos too. Sometimes I have to copy and paste the copy onto a word document and then xfer it to blogger. Good times. :)
