New Blogger In Town

Yay! My veterinarian brother-in-law that I've mentioned and even shown (think Wesley from Princess Bride) on this site now has his own blog related to veterinarian stuff. Really guys. Dr. Bern is VERY good at his job, and is in my opinion world class. If you have any questions regarding your pets, he's doing Q&As, and I'm sure he would love the opportunity to answer any questions you have. Here's the address: http://avetsguidetolife.blogspot.com/. Now go visit him!

Hey, Mary could you put him on your blog list so I can just go there from your blog? I read all his posts, it sounds like a great blog for people with pets!

Rather die than what? Wow.

Thanks, Mary! Folks, she's lucky in that she married into a family with a vet, and can ask me for free advice any time. Now you can too by going to my blog! :) And hopefully have fun reading about other stuff too.

I don't know of a single vet who hasn't read James Herriot. :) I got my first Herriot book when I was a pre-teen, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah, Liz used to work in a vet's office when she was a kid. :) She has a natural talent for medical-type stuff. Used to be a dental assistant too! (Also, it was her husband that would rather have died, not Liz, and you can just ignore him, he can be a butthead anyway. ;) )

Timpani - Yeah I meant to do that. Thanks for reminding me!

aw, mary thinks i have natural talent, lol! i do love anything medical related, animal or human. it's just facinating. i got to watch them take kidney stones out of me, and the doctors were amazed that i not only didn't pass out, i was enthralled, and kept peppering them with questions!

and yeah, i LOVE herriot too.

Liz you're so funny! I would have liked to watch my c-sections, but I didn't think they'd let me.

I would rather have NOT seen my c-sections (shudder). I can watch them draw blood, but surgery, dead bodies, and hurting things makes me queasy.

do you know, the birthing process is the only one i can't watch. they gave me the option of watching my own births in the mirror, or touching the head when it crowned, ect, and i was like NO WAY! totally wigs me out. and i once fainted during a video of a c-section. i was 16, and anorexic, so i've never known if it was the movie, or the lack of food that day, but i suspect it was both.

LOL you guys crack me up!

Yay! We all know that I'm a dog geek!! This will be a valuable resource for me I'm sure.

I assisted in two births while in nursing school. I love it! Seeing my first epidural made me ill though. So much so that I doubt that I'll have one when I have kids. That's whole lot of trust to give to a person... even a highly trained person. :)

The other thing to make me sick was eye surgery. There's just something wrong about sticking a huge needle in someone's eye! urg!!

I don't think I could be in the medical field. I'm just a little too squeamish. Is that what your degree is in?

you only THINK you won't get an epidural, lol! just wait until your actually in the midst of all that pain, and then you just won't care, as long as they STOP IT!
